One of the islands we passed on our trip with the kayak. The sunset gorgeously illuminated the whole bay.

The search for a mooring took us more than two hours – a new record. Looking for a spot, we made the big harbour tour, circling many islands. Some places were too deep, some had a rock too close, and some were already occupied. Additionally, we had to consider the wind direction so that the wind was not against the boat’s stern. Wind direction was forecasted from the southeast but came from the west, leading to even more uncertainty about the right spot. The short sailing tip turned into a long day with many questions: Should we continue to sail south or not? Should we moor in the bay or not? Is this a safe place for tonight? Rice or pasta for dinner?

Finally, after an eternity, we found a lovely place for our own. No other boat was in sight, and we could enjoy a whole island alone. We realised we had been wedged between two ships’ sides for the last five nights. This was the first time we were alone, at least within a radius of 200m. We stayed for two long days and did some island exploration with our inflatable kayak until sunset.

We explored the island's surrounding in an inflatable kayak in the light of the sunset.

A short stop on the neighbouring island to take some drone shots.

We passed a typical summer cottage. Most are not connected to modern infrastructure, i.e., no running water or electricity.

Many bird species live in the protection of the island shelf. Many of them were hunting for fish during dawn.
